threeRivers 3D introduces second generation 3D laser scanner
Pittsburgh, PA – May 10th, 2010 – threeRivers 3D, Inc., a manufacturer of standard and custom 3D imaging systems, announces the launch and immediate availability of the LC-2, their second generation 3D laser scanner in the LaserCode™ series. The LC-2 is a high speed, high resolution, non-contact 3D digitizer used to quickly convert real-world objects into highly detailed 3D digital models. Sharing the same patented scanning engine as the previous line of scanners, the LC-2 offers higher resolution and faster scan speeds in a more compact package.
“We are very excited about our second generation product line. In addition to increasing performance and robustness, it also incorporates several customer-requested enhancements,” stated Mike Formica, CEO and co-founder of threeRivers 3D. “This new scanner fills the industry need for an affordable device without sacrificing speed or quality. Our price-performance ratio, coupled with the ability to customize scanners for each application is unique in the industry.”
Features and options of the LC-2 include:
High Performance– the LC-2 captures scan data in less than 5 seconds at a resolution of 1280x960 per individual scan; the optional rotary turntable automates full 360° capture;
Ease of use – an Ethernet interface makes the scanner simple to setup and configure and provides faster more reliable data transfer than USB;
Robust – our new imaging system and optics results in a system that is nearly immune to ambient lighting changes and can capture most items without the need for cumbersome surface prep;
Portable – the system easily fits on a desktop and its light weight, small form factor and tripod mount make it ideal for remote scanning jobs;
Flexible– custom configurations and form factors are readily available; full turnkey systems are offered including synchronous and simultaneous multiple scanner support.
